With support from the Urban Institute and others, the Bank Apprenticeship Resource Coalition (BARC), a division of AABD, is leading the effort to help make bank apprenticeships mainstream in the United States.

Bank boards of directors want their banks to attract top talent. Talent does not derive entirely from conventional sources. Bank apprenticeships offer the opportunity for banks and their boards and management to identify talented people from a variety of backgrounds, including those not often considered.

Bank apprenticeships can open opportunities in banking to those who cannot or choose not to pursue a college education but who have the talent and initiative to succeed. It has worked for banks in the U.K. Why not here?

For more information on how your bank may offer bank apprenticeships and play a role in BARC, check out BARC’s new website at www.WeAreBarc.org.
