Heavy Regulatory Burdens on Bank Directors are Getting Heavier
AABD’s Bank Director Regulatory Burden Report, Second Edition, updates its First Edition by identifying more than 800 federal banking laws, regulations and regulatory “guidance” that create obligations on bank boards of directors and their committees. Heretofore, there was no resource available that collated these provisions, which were not organized in a manner that would allow banks and their boards of directors to access easily. The Report calls for the federal banking agencies to assess the burden of these provisions on bank boards and board committees as part of their decennial review of regulatory burdens on banks, and for the U.S. Congress to conduct oversight hearings.
